Flag of Mozambique Size: The flag of Mozambique is a five-color flag. The colors included in the flag are green, black, white, yellow, and red. There are three horizontal stripes. The first stripe is in green color while the second one is in a black shade with thin white borders on both sides of it. The third and the last stripe is yellow shaded. There is a red triangle with a white pointed star in yellow tone with a Kalashnikov rifle with a pike appended to the barrel crossed by a bow and an open book in white tone. History: The banner of the country depends on the banner of the Mozambican Liberation Front party. The banner has been altered so often. At first, the colors were not as arranged as they are now. After Independence, the colors were rearranged. The previous emblem was removed and the new one was added. The flag was altered or modified in 1983 and was officially adopted. The flag has never changed since 1983. Interesting facts: The opposing party in the country has demanded so many times to change the flag. They believe that it shows violence, but all the proposals are rejected. Mozambique, Bolivia, and Guatemala are the only countries with a weapon on their flag. Many people in the country are against the yellow star in the flag as it reminds them of the painful memories of Marxism. Some are against the rifle too as they believe that it shows violence and it needs to be changed.
