Flag of Kuwait Size: The national flag of Kuwait consists of three bands. These bands are horizontal in direction. It has a trapezium on the derrick side. Pan-Arab shades are used in the flag. The area of the three bands is the same as 1:1:1. The shades used in the flag are green, white, and red for the top, middle, and bottom bands, respectively. The color of the trapezium is black. The width to length extent ratio of the flag is 1:2. Meaning:
The banner has the Pan-Arab shades of white, red, dark, and green. These tones are found in the banners of most Arabic countries. Every shade in the flag has its distinct meaning. The colors are selected wisely for the flag. The dark tone on the left half of the banner represents a triumph over the country’s opponents. The green stripe at the top represents Kuwait’s lovely estates and ripe land. The white band in the middle of the flag represents harmony and the progress of the country. It also describes the bright future of the country. The red band represents the bloodshed during the fight for Autonomy. Overall, the flag represents the unity of Kuwait’s nation. History: The First National Flag was designed during the 19th Century. It was a simple red flag without any symbol or text. It was inspired by the Flags of Persian countries. Then it was redesigned in 1889. A crescent, star, and the word Kuwait in Arabic were added in the middle of the flag. Then, in 1909, the country’s name was shifted to the top. After six years, the design of the flag was again changed. The crescent, star, and Arabic text were removed. Again, on the left side of the flag, the half “Kalma Taiba” was added in Arabic. In English, it means “There is no God except for Allah”. Then, in 1961, the current flag was adopted. It has not changed since 1961. Interesting Facts:The banner is flown during significant occasions in the country like Independence Day festivities, games, and in public grieving. In 2004, someone gave the idea to design the kite with shades of the National Flag. So, the kite was designed by utilizing the National Flag’s colors. The size of the kite was 1019 square meters. The principles for flying the National Flag include that the green part of the flag should be at the top when raised evenly and, the red side should be at the left position when it is lifted in an upward direction. 6,880 17,818
