Flag of Sudan: Size: The flag of Sudan is a four-color flag. The colors present in the flag are red, white, black, and green. There are three level stripes in the banner with a triangle at the derrick. The first stripe is of the red shade while the second one is of white shade and the third one is of black shade and the triangle is in green color. The flag was adopted on May 20th, 1970 almost 51 years ago, and, the proportion of the flag is 1:2. The banner is based on the Arab Liberation Flag of the Egyptian Revolution of 1952. Meaning: The colors black, red and, green are also known as the Pan- Arab colors and are historically linked with the people of Arab and Islamic religion for centuries. These colors represent Arab Unity and Independence. The red color in the flag represents the sacrifices and struggles of the people of Sudan in gaining independence. The white tone in the banner addresses light, individuals, and idealism. It likewise addresses the White Flag League, which was a gathering that rose contrary to frontier rule in 1924. The black color represents the people of Sudan as the majority of the people of Sudan are black people and, it is also known as the land of black people. History: On 1 January 1956, after acquiring independence from Egypt and the United Kingdom, Sudan took on a banner that was in a blue-yellow and green tone. It was a tri-shading banner. This banner was planned by the well-known artist Macki Sufi. This banner stayed in use until 1970. In 1970, the current banner of Sudan was overhauled. The yellow and blue colors were taken out of the flag and, new colors were added to it. The flag was officially adopted and, the flag is unchanged since. Interesting facts: The current flag was selected from a nationally held flag competition, and it was designed by Abd Al-Rahman Ahmad al-Jali. The flag of Sudan is similar to the Arab Liberation Flags in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. The three colors in the flag also appeared in the Mahdist Regime during the 19th century, and these colors are viewed as the symbol of Arab Unity. The south and north Sudan have different flags; the only difference between these flags is that the green triangle is replaced with a blue triangle and, the white stripe is replaced with a red stripe. 718,723 1,861,484
